Day 5 — The first major roadblock
Today's notes are very short. I was supposed to give practical insights on what it takes to run an MCP server/client.
I attempted to use the MCP SDK to create an MCP server that can host Claude Desktop and be able to serve its data on weather predictions. However, after writing and building the script to perform this, Claude Desktop still wasn't able to access the MCP — even though that script ran on the terminal successfully, even outside the IDE.
I'd try and debug the situation during the weekend. However, I did create 2 slides that explain what MCP servers and clients are.
Next week, the challenge continues. I'm tempted to add Golang and/or Rust to my list of programming languages and use it to build some cool stuff. Golang offers better performance and efficiency than both Python and JavaScript, which I am more accustomed to using.
